Wednesday evening Team Honda Europe is scheduled for scrutineering. The team did the final preparations on the bikes and a last check to see if everything was still ok. It was a relaxed day. Putting on the last sponsorstickers, filling the watertanks on the bikes and collecting the emergency packages for each teammember. Everyone carries several flares, a light and rescueblanket. Also the wiring to the GPS and sentinel had to altered in Le Havre, so the team has taken some time to tidy the electronics. Mirjam Pol has talked to ASO into giving the numbers for the bikes alrady before the scrutineering, which saves us time tomorrow.
The presscar has already gone through scrutineering, which went well as soon as we found the right desk. After we connected the Tripy electronic roadbook and put the stickers on the car everything was set to go. This means the press team can assist when the bikes and truck are checked.
Today the American competitors went to scrutineering. Tomorrow and thursday it's mostly Europeans. The team has to do some last shopping and after that it's our turn, at 17.00h local time. If all the vehicles pass the test everyone can enjoy a relaxing 31st of december, before the start of Dakar 2010 on january 1st!
there is a lot of rain, and the team has already heard rumours of floods and swollen rivers. Everybody is curious to see what this means for the tracks.
