Team Honda Europe tests new injection |

The summer has arrived, and the holidayseason will start shortly. Time to relax a little. Although? Here at Team Honda Europe a lot of negotiations with potential competitors from all over the world are going on. In two weeks time the first period with the lower rates for the subscriptionfee will end. Preparation and building off the Dakar 2010 bike have already started. Teammanager Henk Hellegers. The 2009 motocross 450 from Honda is equipped with injection. We're now in the process of testing this new injection on the enduroversion of the CRF, which remained unchanged for 2009.''

For several years, more and more of the top bikers have won specials or
finished in the leading ten overall positions using under 450cc bikes.
At the same time, the smaller capacity machines have been more and more
present, representing 40% of the registered riders at the start of the
2009 Dakar. Financially more accessible and more reliable than the
older bikes of the previous generations and now more adapted to the
demands of off-road rallies, the 450cc still have a deficit in
performance that prevent them from reaching even higher ambitions. This
difference will be totally erased for the 2011 Dakar during which only
bikes with engines under 450cc will be accepted.

Team for Dakar 2010 under construction |

The subscription has been opened, which means it's decision time for
competitors and teams about their Dakar 2010 participation. Until july
15 the online subscription is open. After this date we will know
shortly who will be at the start in Buenos Aires. Who will be there for
sure, is Team Honda Europe/Dakarsport. Slowly the team is getting
shape. With a number of familiar faces, and a number of new riders it's
looking promosing for next year.

Great atmosphere in IJmuiden |

The second edition of IJmuiden-Dakar 2009 from last saturday was a great day for all the guests and visitors. Although the rain was pooring down in most parts of Holland, on the beach in IJmuiden it remaind dry the whole day, and around midday the sun even came out. Dakasport and Ginaf organized this day together, which was visited by 400 guests. They got the oppurtunity to do two laps on the beachcircuit in a Ginaf truck or a Bowler Nemesis. Off course the Team Honda Europe was also present. Jurgen van den Goorbergh showed his skills on the 2 kilometer long track with several spectacular jumps. All this offered a lot of fun for the people at IJmuiden Dakar 2009.

Dakarsport.com & GINAF Rallypower naar IJmuiden aan Zee |

Op zaterdag 28 maart aanstaande organiseert Dakarsport.com samen met Ginaf Rallypower voor de 2e maal op het strand van IJmuiden het spectaculaire evenement IJmuiden-Dakar. Op een speciaal aangelegd strandcircuit zullen de twee grootste Nederlandse teams, net terug van Dakar 2009, hun kunsten vertonen.

Dakar at the 'Motorbeurs' Utrecht |

Van 26 februari t/m 1 maart is de jaarlijkse Motorbeurs in Utrecht. Deze gezellige beurs betekent het startschot van weer een nieuw motorseizoen. Op zaterdag en zondag is er een 'Dakarpodium' in hal 3. Allard Kalf neemt op het grote podium interviews af met diverse Dakar 2009 deelnemers.
Onder hen natuurlijk ook Mirjam Pol. Mirjam en haar motor zijn te vinden op de stand van Honda.
Mirjam kun je daar spreken over haar Dakaravonturen, maar ook over de reizen die zij organiseert samen met Honda en HT Rally Raid. (Honda Desert Adventure) De motor van Jurgen van den Goorbergh is te zien op de stand van Moto 73 en Jurgen zelf is ook 4 dagen lang aanwezig op de beurs.

In a couple of weeks all European Dakarvehicles return from Buenos AIres. In Le Havre, France, all teams can collect the bikes, cars and trucks. At that moment the Dakar 2009 is really over, and the preparations for 2010 can start. Teammanager Henk Hellegers looks back with satisfaction at a succesful 30st edition of the Dakarrally.,, We have reached our goals. Five of our seven riders finished, four of them in the top 30. With the victory of Mirjam Pol in the ladies classification and the 17th place overall for Jurgen van den Goorbergh we have succeeded in what we wanted from the beginning.''
